Within all this covid craziness..us photographers are FINALLY able to go back work. I was BEYOND thrilled to pick up my camera and get back to shooting. And what a better way to get back into groove of things then with a super secret proposal!

Scott and I had spoken over social media for a few days before the whole thing went down and we made a plan! I used my bestie Nicole, and Tim as decoys ( this is what good friends do of course!) We were all set up on the dock, and ready to go. Diligently watching for Scott + Heather to arrive at the Seneca Lake, New York Welcome Center. When they arrived, it was show time! I used my super sly skills and long lens to capture all the emotion and the minute Heather said yes!!

We all took a quick walk around the lake, to grab some more shots, and get to know each other, and talk about plans they could do on the lake over the weekend…including some amazing wine slushies!

Here is a little more from Heather + Scott ;

How did you meet each other?!
Heather: “Scott and I met in college going into our Junior Year at Bloomsburg University. I was a tour guide and ended up handing him my business card! Two days later he emailed me and the rest is history! “

What are some of your favorite actives to do together? Any cool hobbies you enjoy?
”We love to eat! Food is very important to us! Lol! We enjoy hiking together. Scott created a brand called LI Hike, where we hike on Long Island, where we live, and give reviews and take pictures of each hike. We love being outdoors with each other. “

Scott, Tell us how you pulled off this proposal!

”I had the ring since earlier in 2020 and I was waiting for a trip that made sense to propose. We came up to Seneca Lake for our 5 year anniversary last fall of 2019. Once I knew we were booking another getaway there I knew I had to reach out to find the right photographer to capture the moment and Dani was it. I told Heather we were headed to Seneca Lake State Park for a social distancing picnic. Once we walked onto the pier taking in the views is when I asked! “

What was your first reaction, Heather? Did you have any idea?!

“I really had no idea! I thought we were just doing a getaway vacation. Once we arrived to the lodge after a five hour drive, he told me I had an hour to get ready for a surprise. At this point, I still really didn’t have any ideas of what it could be! Once we got into the car and I started navigating, I knew we were going to Seneca Lake State Park and he mentioned it was for a picnic. We brought lunch and he said we had to enter the welcome center once we arrived to pick up blankets, supplies, etc. Once we arrived, we walked over to the pier first just to take in the beautiful view…or so I thought! And that’s when it happened!”

Did you do anything else on your mini getaway to the Finger Lakes, NY?
”We stayed at Plum Point Lodge and loved it! We went to some of our favorite wineries for to go orders (covid-19). We also did two waterfall hikes in the area! “

Any wedding plans yet?!

“Right now we’re just getting our feet wet! We don’t know if we want to have it on Long Island or do a getaway where it would be more of a mini vacation in maybe a more scenic area!”
