Emily & Ted’s wedding was one for the books! Tucked way in the grove of MKJ Farm, their ceremony took place overlooking the fields on the dock of the property. It was sunny, it was warm, it was perfect!

While the boys were getting ready at the Turning Stone Lodge, the girls were hustling about on the properties homestead. With babies napping and the flower girls playing with the goodies from their gift baskets, our beautiful Bride Emily was dressed in her gown and surprised some of the most important ladies with a first look. Break out the tissues….because next came one of the most perfect first looks with a father I have ever experienced.

Emily’s dad, Ed first saw his daughter in her wedding dress…I don’t think there was a dry eye in the house for the rest of the day with her & her dad. With a wedding party who loved to dance, after some group shots the bride & groom made their grand entrance into the packed barn ready to PARTY!

The drinks were flowing, the smoke machine was one and everyone…was packed onto the dance floor. We even had a guest from one of the barn cats who got a little dance in! We ended our evening with of course, some epic night shots that came out perfectly!

WHAT WAS YOUR MOST MEMORABLE MOMENT OF YOUR WEDDING DAY?

Emily: “The whole day went so quickly! The most memorable part was probably the anticipation I had leading up to the ceremony. Everything finally felt real as I started walking down the aisle.”

Ted : “The ceremony..and Emily with her bottle of vodka!”

Any Advice for Future Couples?

Emily: ‘We snuck off from the reception after dinner just to have ten minutes alone with each other. We had not seen or really talked to each other the entire day and was so nice to have a peaceful moment together to let the day sink in. Just take five or ten minutes to be alone together after your ceremony!”

Ted : “ HIRE DANI!”

If you had to do it all over again, would you change anything?

Emily : “oooh. I would probably say, do less yourself. Although I saved a ton of money by doing flowers ourselves it took a ton of time I could have spent with family and friends before hand. And hire Dani, because you don’t do any worrying about pictures or poses or styles or anything!!”

Ted: “I wouldn’t have changed anything.”

Where did you Honeymoon?

Emily: “Sandals La Toc in St. Lucia. Absolutely beautiful!

Also… We didn’t leave for our honeymoon until a week after our wedding and I’m so glad! It was nice to get organized, pack, destress, etc. prior to leaving. We met so many couples at our resort that were honeymooning that literally left from their reception to the airport or the following morning and they were miserable and tired and regretting the decision. Take the extra time!”

What surprised you most about your wedding day?

Emily : ”Really, how quickly the day went. Everyone always said the day would happen so quickly and it’s so true. You spend months and years planning and dreaming. Take time to slow it down, relax, and enjoy it.”
