Sunflower Engagement Session | Dani T Photography

When Kelly first contacted me to start the process of a surprise proposal I was over the moon with excitement. I may or may not have squealed a little bit on the phone. We started listing ideas of where to go, timelines, how to get Mitalee in a certain spot at a certain time. Then it came to us…the sunflowers were going to be bloom at the timeline we were looking at, and how amazing would it be to have a proposal in our fields?!

We planned and planned, the ring came in, and Kelly and I were having conversations about the perfect timing! The day came..I was watching the weather like a HAWK…it had been rainy all day, but we were determined rain or shine this was happening.

My dear friend Lindsey was my decoy in the field, to which Kelly & Mitalee pulled up to with their adorable pup in hand. And after a few minutes of a surprise photo session…Kelly got down on one knee and asked Mitalee to be her forever. We all cried tears of happiness and joy to which the sun promptly peeked out from behind the clouds for one of the best sunsets I have seen in a long time.

Our evening ending with the most perfect rainbow for the most beautiful couple. Congratulations Kelly & Mitalee! You both are incredible and I cannot wait to watch your love grow!!

UPDATE: A few weeks later Mitalee proposed to Kelly! Both their rings are so perfect for them and similar shapes. How awesome is that?! <3
