There are weddings you dream of as a photographer. Ones that are full of so much love you are holding back tears all damn day. Ones where family is so important that by the end of the night you are invited back to family birthday parties and events. Ones where the couple trust you 100% to do whatever you want on the wedding today because they know your vision is exactly what they want in their images. April & Phil’s wedding was nothing less than this.

We started the afternoon with a boat ride over to Cherry Island, where I was promptly greeted by Phil, who I had just met as I was getting off the boat. Within 10 minutes we all were chatting and laughing together, just excited for April to walk down the isle. At almost sunset, April’s dad walked her down the grassy sidewalk to meet Phil, where they exchanged vows, rings and their first kiss as husband and wife!

Afterwards we celebrated the newly married couple with family & friends, a very special boat ride, and ending the evening with one of the most incredible sunsets I have ever seen in my career! It was so breathtaking I quickly set up my camera, and rushed April & Phil outside for their first dance with their son Declan.

As I left for the evening, my heart was so full..this was the wedding I had always dreamed of photographing. It was the wedding that reminded why I put so much heart and soul into my couples, why I work so hard to capture precious moments for families.

April & Phil, I wish you so much happiness and love of a lifetime in the future! I cannot wait to see you again so soon on your next visit to New York!
